Songs of our Lives

I was looking for inspiration, and a friend decided to suggest I talk about music. So I shall

Music is an interesting thing, when you really think about it. The way we hear it and sense it, it's become a part of our daily lives, and is the inspiration of many things ranging from Movies and Drawings, to just simple thought process. I personally like to listen to music to get me in certain moods, and can either make me feel better, or help me connect with life more. My personal favorite type of music is Orchestral, or well, Classical Music.

I don't know how to explain it, but classical music always seems to get me into a more thinking, and thoughtful state of mind, and helps to have me cool down, or cheer up. Something about Classical music just brings me to this neutral, yet happy state of being and mind. That doesn't mean I don't love other types of music though. In fact, most types of Rock music, and even some techno music are really nice, along with a lot of alternative artists. One of my favorite artists is Gotye for example, and Steam Powered Giraffe, along with bands like Muse and Mumford and Sons. Sometimes I think about going into music or something, but I suck at singing, and I don't know how to play an instrument, so that's a big damper. Plus, I prefer listening to music and such, and the Stars are where I really want to study anyways.

I just find it fascinating how music can invoke such reactions in people, and inspire them to do such great things.

But...

There's always a bad side to a something like this. A lot of modern Pop and Rap music display this. Although most seem harmless, they can have a lot of sexual and more malevolent undertones to their words, and this gets thrown at 13 year old children's ears like none other. It's actually rather funny, how all these songs become so popular, and then we wonder why Teen pregnancy is becoming a big deal, and other such sexual problems. That's not the only contributor obviously, but it's a thought. There are also a lot of songs that talk about Killing, and Rape, and other such awful things, and really push those ideas in a sense. They're not as popular, obviously, but it's just.. Kinda sad, in my opinion. Oh well.

Music has a big part in people's lives today, I'm curious what the next big Music trend will be (besides more awful dubstep)
